Arabic 101

The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to basic vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, speaking, and listening. From the very beginning, the student will be familiarized with the standard Arabic that is understood in all the Arabic-speaking countries. Students will be able to introduce themselves and tackle most of the common everyday situations.

 

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1. interact with Arabic speaking people in very basic situations;
2. use very basic vocabulary to speak about himself/herself;
3. apply basic grammar skills to write sentences;
4. apply newly acquired oral skills in small role play activities;
5. describe objects and people in Arabic.
